My son was told they are not allowed to drink from their water bottles all day due to Omicron
I’m annoyed about that. Mine has to leave instruction and go in the hallway. It’s going overboard.
It takes a minute. If missing ONE minute of instruction is going to kill your kid, then your kid probably needs to be in a different classroom setting.
My kid is vaccinated, and so are his peers, who are masked in a room with a HEPA filter. Are we following the science, or not?
It’s a sip of water. I’m not saying we should unmask or not vaccinate, but like I said- that’s completely overboard. Should also add they’re eating breakfast in the same room.
These are stressful times. I'd work with the teacher and see if a straw cup works. If not, perhaps your kid could plan ahead to get a drink before class starts?
I am not the pp you are addressing but come on - do you even hear yourself when you say this kind of stuff?! This is absolutely ridiculous what you are suggesting. Truly ridiculous. The worst part is you can’t even see it. Talk to your doctor. Read him/her your comments. Let them help with you with your health anxiety.
My point was merely that I wouldn't pick a fight over this. I did take on a teacher last spring when my DD's teacher banned books from home or the school library as a covid risk. That was a real education issue. This is what happens when teachers don't trust their leadership's judgment of health and safety. They fill the vacuum with their own rules.
