Actually it isn't the urban teens that are the issue. It is mostly people in poor, rural areas where the number of DMVs has been curtailed and they are not served by public transportation, so you have to arrange for a ride to go 40-50 miles to get a legal ID.

And polling stations in rural areas almost always require having a ride to get there.  What about the elderly who might not drive any more due to impaired vision or other health issues?  Thus the need for alternatives like absentee ballots.  Thus the need to not demonize those who would try to help let them cast their votes as is their right.[/quote]
