Can’t stand any of these clowns. I won’t vote Republican but will not vote for Elrich, Reimer, Hucker, or Jawando. Their support for Thrive and corresponding blind eye to the impacts of middle class families like mine is mind boggling. Also the complete lack of any substantial business development in MoCo and utter chaos in MCPS. And crime, too, while we’re at it. Hate to say it, but this is exactly why Democrats will lose big in 2022. Not everyone is as staunchly anti-GOP as I am. And if the county had a decent Republican (non Trumpie / not an anti vaccine / anti CRT racist) centrist I’d vote for them just to take a vote away from the clown show above.
Elrich does not support thrive.
Yes, he does and has done several posts on his updates talking about the benefits of Thrive and the vision for county. He absolutely supports Thrive, especially those elements that affect the eastern part of the county the most.
He doesn’t.
Don’t get cutesy. He does support the elements of Thrive that enable the evisceration of middle class communities near metros where many families - immigrants, blue collar workers, etc - can still afford a SFH. He just doesn’t think Thrive goes far enough. So yes, he had objections to Thrive but not about the fundamentals that mean many very diverse, middle class neighborhoods in Glenmont, Wheaton, and Silver Spring will be eaten alive by.
You are probably confusing Elrich with Riemer or someone else. He opposed Jawando ZTA that would do exactly the thing that you claim he supports.
