You're supposed to stop before you turn right, when you're turning right at a stop sign or at a red light. Not slow down. STOP.

Not all right turns are made at stop signs or red lights. Sometimes people are making a right turn into a driveway, gas station or into a shopping area from a busy road and there are no pedestrians in sight but they still nearly come to a stop in the road before turning right. They do this because they don't know how to drive.[/quote]

If they need to stop in order to definitively determine that there are no pedestrians in sight then that is much safer and much less jerky than assuming there are no pedestrians and thinking that you don't have to yield unless a pedestrian is already starting to walk across.  If you are the type of driver that thinks that pedestrians are walking in front of you any time they are in the crosswalk then you are in fact the jerky driver. [/quote]
