My kids will have the chance to get an abortion in VA or MD or another blue state.

I can't tell if the bolded is specifically in reference to abortion or a summary of the whole post, but on abortion the official Republican party platform is anti-choice. I really can't believe people are this obtuse or ignorant. [b]And you are going to see what happens to the rights of your daughters re: abortion when the Supreme Court reverses Roe or guts 40+ years of jurisprudence on the issue later this year. The right of married couples to birth control may or may not remain intact. And yes, I said married couples. Laws restricting the rights of women to obtain birth control may be back on menu. Enjoy!

As far as the authoritarianism, well, yes. And as a politician you are either part of it or you're not. How does a voter tell the difference? That is simple - does your candidate reject Trump's attempted coup or not? I realize that people freak out about using the "c" word, but that's your own arrogance talking. You think it can't happen here. It only happens in third word $hitholes with tin pot dictators. Welp, I've got news for you. The head of state calling up leaders of other states to find votes, publicly declaring the vote was rigged, convening a rally to challenge the results of legitimate election, and then tacitly endorsing the violent actions of your followers - that's a coup.

I'd like to consider voting for a moderate Republican, but there really aren't any left. And watching things like birth control and abortion rights come front and center has only cemented the fact that I want my daughters to have the chance at full autonomy and equal rights. So adios GOP.[/quote]
