It is classic Democrat to not care about something that doesn’t impact you. I am a Republican. I thought my kids would get a good public school education like I did. It was bad. No rigor. We moved to Private 4 years ago and have no regrets. But not everyone can do that and education is the key to advancement and success in life and public schools have to be good. But they aren’t right now and I care about that a lot. It is important for our society.
Most public schools are more rigorous than most private schools. Private schools generally have less qualified teachers. And a larger number of them teach nonsense like man and dinosaurs walked the earth at the same time and the earth is only 7,000 years old.
Clearly you know nothing about private schools. Or daughters were in allegedly the best elementary school in Arlingtin before the pandemic. I gave them additional math training because their teacher was weak in math and could not explain third grade level content. During the pandemic, we got some of the last spaces at a local parochial school. We thought we would do it for six months. The change was amazing. The “less qualified” teachers brought our kids out if the pandemic school malaise and hit them excited about school. They are also more kind and caring and no longer bullied because of their race. They are never going back to the school where my children and I did grammar and spelling lessons by correcting notes and emails from their teachers. They will continue with private schools even though it means we can’t expand our small house.
