I get what you're saying, OP.

It is nice when they reach the age of being able to make their own breakfasts and pack their own lunches.  It does make things flow so much smoother in the mornings.

But with that independence comes independent thinking.  That's the one that's a kick in the pants and makes you miss the days when you could fix all their problems with a kiss from mommy or pick them up and physically MOVE them when they refused to go somewhere.  [/quote]
