The scenes with Kendall's ex-wife were interesting. At first, she seemed to be so proud of him. There was a hint of attraction in her face, as if she was considering reconciling with him. I think she was excited that he was "coming home" and had become a new man. But then as the evening wears on and she gathers more info, she can see that he's still frantic and unfocused. He doesn't have a plan. Even though he's off drugs, he still comes across as a jittery, self-absorbed cokehead. He overtakes her home, drinks her special wine, and brings along his floozy of the month. Her heart breaks.
I like her, but she was spoiled and histrionic over the wine. When I first saw the scene, I thought that one of the children was injured based on her reaction. But, hey, I never understood keeping wine for years and years, so what do I know? Wine is meant for drinking.
I don't blame her for that reaction at all. It was a memento to her, and his new girlfriend made that power move by telling Cousin Greg to open it up. Clearly that was her moment of peeing all over the place to make sure her scent was the dominant one. I think that's what made her as much upset as the wine itself - that this younger woman came in and dominated HER home. Overall I found this episode... boring?
