I personally went through this - D1 recruit, all-state, etc. etc. and played 2 years at a D1 program. I played minutes but was not a star. I then spent my final two years at a D3 school where I played almost every minute of every match and had an amazing education experience and built lifelong relationships. My D3 education did me fairly well - I'm now retired at 45. Life is much bigger than how many kids a club sends to a D1 school.     [/quote]
