[/quote] College professor here, teaching in person and happy to be doing so. But to state the obvious, there are a *lot* of people on college campuses who are not 18-22 year olds and who have direct contact with students. Besides faculty, there are also food service workers, maintenance workers, residence hall staff, and so on. Universities are major employers responsible for the health of many people other than students. I have two kids in college. I get it. It's just a lot more complicated than it looks from the outside.
