No gods are involved. It’s just the result of warming atmospheric conditions and oceans. We are now caught in a negative feedback loop of environmental collapse and the only way to stop it is to dramatically cut carbon emissions and halt deforestation. The nations of this earth cannot coordinate such a mutually beneficial outcome because they seek to gain a marginal advantage over the others.

The US attaining a net carbon negative position would actually be a massive position of strength from a national security standpoint. Unfortunately it’s going to take a Republican proposing “The Manhattan Project of Climate Change” for our country to do something. But it will likely be too late by the time “conservatives” see the wisdom in that policy objective.

Meanwhile, the most Red/Republican parts of the country are getting wrecked the hardest by climate change. It’s kind of mind boggling to me[/quote]
