Not sure about here in Fairfax, but I taught in a system many years ago where the local leader was making 6 times that of a beginning teacher. This is the same thing with the money in the school system. The school systems don't need more money, they just need to spend it correctly. New programs that are going to be the panacea for everything cost big bucks and seldom do better than what was already there. Paying and securing good teachers would be much more effective.
