I paid $44k out the door in MD for the Highlander XLE. I probably talked to 8-10 dealers plus other brands. No one budged on their price. Some wouldn’t even give me a price unless I was in the showroom. It’s just a crappy time to buy a new car. FWIW My dealer said they were selling a ton of cars this week. Unfortunately I didn’t have the luxury of waiting a few weeks to see if they caved. But I did walk out of a couple dealers and no one was chasing me down.
Should have asked the pricing expert here. According to him, no shortage.
Again, for the benefit of those who have reading comprehension problems, I don't doubt there are people who are paying MSRP for cars. You want us to trust what is being said by a car salesman? Lol.
You still holding on to your "no shortage" viewpoint now that it’s widely known?
   You have reading comprehension problems. I never said there is no shortage problem overall. I even said back in may that there were shortages for some cars. Inventory has tightened even more in the past couple of months, so it's nearly impossible now to get deals on high demand cars, especially Toyotas.
