Overall the tweet exposes the Republican lie. And I'm sure that's why they did it. Republicans claim prices have "skyrocketed" but in reality they haven't, it's just the usual dishonest cherrypicking of select data points that Republicans do, it's the usual dishonest ignoring and denying of the actual underlying causes and mechanics of price fluctuation that Republicans engage in... Again, Republicans suck.
LOL. No. Consumers are already seeing rising costs at the grocery store. Before the pandemic began, the national average for a pound of bacon in January 2020 was $4.72. By last month, that price had soared to $5.11, according to exclusive supermarket point of sale data from Nielsen IQ. The hikes are greater in certain areas of the country. Boston and Philadelphia are paying nearly a dollar more per pound of bacon, while Chicago is up about 70 cents. https://www.today.com/food/pork-prices-set-rise-summer-during-bbq-season-today-t215061
Consumers frantically rushing through the grocery stores like a coronavirus version of the hit TV game show “Supermarket Sweep” now have another challenge to deal with: skyrocketing prices. April grocery prices shot up to the highest levels since February 1974, with meat, poultry, fish and eggs increasing the most, according to the latest Consumer Price Index released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Eggs were up 16 percent. Pork roasts, steaks and ribs, up 10 percent. Fresh whole chicken, up 7 percent.
