He was probably trying to blend in while documenting what antifa and BLM were up to. Do you have a (credible) source stating otherwise?
+1 This is what actual investigative media does.
+2 And note - he wasn’t setting anything on fire or destroying government buildings and businesses. He was there to document those who do. Good for him.
No. -2. How do we know he wasn't there to cause trouble? People infiltrating protest groups to cause trouble happens quite a bit more than people realize, for example the Boogaloo Bois who have repeatedly been caught for arson, vandalism, violence, molotov cocktails, ambush attacks on police officers and attacks on police departments under the guise of "BLM/Antifa" - with notorious examples being the "Umbrella Man" in Minneapolis but also arrests in a half dozen other cities. https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/28/us/umbrella-man-associated-white-supremacist-group-george-floyd/index.html Also, Andy Ngo has previously been exposed for having rather cozy relationships with Proud Boys and other violent far right extremists and domestic terrorist (whom he does NOT do "investigative journalism" against) https://www.salon.com/2019/08/28/right-wing-journalist-andy-ngo-outed-video-shows-him-hanging-out-with-far-right-hate-group/
+1 He is 100% there to cause trouble and create a narrative, like the PP who said if rural people only listened to his drivel they’d think cities had burned to the ground. He’s an agent provocateur. He doesn’t “expose truth,” he’s committing crimes.
Andy Ngo has been caught on camera conspiring and joking around with Proud Boys and other violent extremist groups as they planned their own violence in Portland. Yet he didn't report on any of those interactions... because he's part of it.
But aren’t those groups completely racist and would never accept an Asian into their fold?
Are you kidding? The Proud Boys would use anyone as a means to an end. They had a Latino national leader who got kicked out in 2020 because he no longer ‘represented’ the face they wanted to portray. I’m sure he was shocked at the betrayal… https://www.insider.com/ousted-proud-boys-underling-attempts-white-supremacist-coup-2020-11
I was waiting for this response. So predictable. I know, Antifa are the good guys. Why they only want change!
Couple of classic con mistakes in your post coming from your deep well of ignorance. First, Democrats don’t support “antifa” (although we should be anti-fascist. It’s really only Republicans who embrace fascism) and antifa sure as shet doesn’t support the Democrats. If you’d ever personally known any actual far left people, you’d understand their derision for Democrats. Second, “antifa” isn’t really a thing in the same way that right wing terrorists are. They’re not well coordinated. They’re not a monolith. And they don’t have big numbers. They also don’t have support from within any political party, whereas Andy Ngo and the Proud Boys, Boogaloo Bois, all sorts of domestic terrorists are coddled and supported by Republicans. They don’t want change. They want to blow up the system. Do you ever get tired of believing you know anything? Do you never get frustrated that your media choices are keeping you stupid?
Antifa is not a thing. The left created this false boogeyman to try to unite the crazies against anyone who criticized he or his goons. Drumpsters used the term to try to normalize fascism. The Portland problem is caused by anarchists. We now have them on both sides of the left/right spectrum. All of this is artifically created mayhem orchestrated by outside forces. We are being manipulated by governments outside of our own.
This actually makes a lot of sense. One of the countries I lived in had "professional" anarchists who would come out during orderly public protests and throw Molotov cocktails, burn cars, and smash store windows. They did this regardless of which party was in power at the time--the left or the right. They didn't GAF and just wanted to create chaos. They weren't carrying signs or espousing specific policies. It was more a way of life than an ideology and they were usually disaffected young men. The only thing I'm not sure about is who is "orchestrating" this in the US. I mean, it's possible, but have you seen any solid evidence? Sadly, it wouldn't take much at this point to have all sides (left, right, and everyone else) go at each other.
