Stop at a dollar store or a cvs or someplace like that close to the beach and let them buy some art supplies, beach toys and cheap fun stuff just for the week. My kids used to like making those stepping stones with shells and other beach souvenirs. 
My kids are teens and young adults now so the equipment situation is easier. We still bring sound machines though! Haha. [/quote]
