Be honest and say two steps below for older teams. I think the oldest team is struggling in EDP Premier I and probably should be in a lower division and your U17 is doing well in EDP Premier III. If the 03/04 team beats OPSA in State Cup, the coaches should celebrate because that is a serious club.
I agree that FCGB teams are not ECNL 1 level right now. But they are probably a step below. While it looks like U18 is struggling in Premier 1, the division has 6 teams. The top two are clearly a step above and would be solid ECNL 1 teams if those clubs were ECNL clubs. OPSA is next tier, even they got beat by one of the top two teams 1-9. Then you have the other three teams, MRM Rush and PSA Elite. FCGB tied one of them once and lost once 1-2 (questionable handball call). So, I'd say they belong in Premier 1. If the division were larger, like the U17 division, you'd see that they would be in the top third of Premier 1. They won their division of the Bethesda Premier Cup where they tied Frederick, another solid team. The U17 team is largely a U16 team other than a few girls who are U17. Still, they tied BSC ECNL 2 U17 team when they played them. For people who say that athleticism isn't a factor, it's not just speed and size (while they play a part) if they train them properly. It's also natural intensity. As a small and new club, they don't get a chance to pick and choose at tryout time. Yet, they are able to field competitive teams from whoever shows up. The coaches have to be doing something right to make that happen. Can't speak on what's happening at the club itself in terms of anything else since my daughter isn't at the club, but seriously considering it so I've been looking at their results closely. It's unfortunate that a couple of unhappy parents would go out of their way to undermine this growing club by posting on this site. I've spoken to many current families and their experiences have been overwhelmingly positive and speak of a very unique environment. I would suggest everyone go take a look for themselves and not be swayed by disgruntled parents. ALL clubs have a few of those.
