My area is already crowded in terms of roads and schools with single family homes. There would have to be some massive infastructure projects to accomodate adding multifamily dwellings to large areas of the county.
There would be fewer cars on the road if more people were able to live closer to things they can currently only reach by car.
Can you point to a city where this is an example?
Can you point to a city where this is NOT an example?
You are the person making the claim, so the burden is on you to provide evidence. If you cannot provide evidence then your claim is unsupportable. I think everyone is aware of the highest density place in this country, Manhattan. There is no traffic utopia there. Urbanized areas of Los Angeles are even more dense than New York and there is no renaissance of fewer cars and people driving. https://www.its.ucla.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2014/05/0506OsgoodEtAL_LANYDensity_Poster.pdf If you have to make things up to state your case, then I am not sure what kind of case that you are making. Certainly one that lacks credibility.
Now imagine Manhattan if everyone had to drive everywhere to get where they're going.
What are you arguing now exactly? You claimed that density decreases traffic, the data says otherwise.
Different pp here. You are acting very obtuse here. For every person that walks, traffic is reduced. If no people can walk anywhere then there are more cars on the road.
