As some PPs have suggested, I would splurge on some items and not others, depending on your needs/lifestyle. I was overly price conscious when pregnant with my first baby, and bought a relatively inexpensive stroller-carseat combo on amazon sight unseen. I ended up hating both: neither had a rethread harness, the stroller didn’t allow my baby to sit up fully once he was old enough to want to, the stroller storage was a pain to access, and so on — issues I had read about in reviews but dismissed because I liked the price and thought “all this gear is interchangeable anyway.” We were in the market for a double stroller when expecting our second, and went to try some models out at a baby store. I went in expecting to like a different model, but loved the (more expensive) uppababy vista once I tried it. It remains one of the best baby-related purchases we made, and I look forward to using it for our third baby. Much less stress all around, and on balance that was well worth the expense. I don’t know what stroller would be best for your needs, but I do think that this is an item worth splurging on if you plan to use it often and can swing it in your budget. Your baby will be fine either way, but ease of use may make your life easier during what can be an inherently stressful/hormonal time. Congratulations on the baby and best of luck with everything!
