A good car seat is probably important and if you will be doing a lot of walking   Or especially running on tough terrain you need a strong stroller. But you probably shouldn’t splurge on 20 newborn outfits the baby will wear once and every baby is so different you might wait to understand more about your needs.  And a lovely nursery can be done on not too much.

OP here. Wow, didn’t know I’d get so much feedback! Our HHI is $300K, we have a hefty savings, no debt besides mortgage. DH easily spends $300 on shoes. He values certain things and I value others. I realize I am likely overreacting, and think a compromise is a good idea. Thanks![/quote]
