That's part of the beauty of walking. You can do extra steps basically wherever - park a little further from the grocery store, walk a few extra laps around Target. Just because you can fit it into your normal life, doesn't make it a less effective form of movement. I can only speak for myself, but I walk around 15,000 steps a day and I think it is both a sign of good health and a cause of good health. (Knock wood a million times.) Sure running is obviously more intense exervise. But running hurts my legs, I don't want to do it. Now gentle yoga, on the other hand - you'll have to convince me that's not just a pre-nap. [/quote]
