I am appalled at how low many parents are in this area. Such high housing costs, such high taxes, such high piggyback taxes. And we are STILL okay with Wednesday off for “cleaning” instead of school hours Alternating weeks instead of increasing to go weekly 2 classes a week instead of a daily schedule No drinkable water in the schools Soggy wet cold sandwiches for lunch almost daily The board talking and talking while being 0% productive Spending time asking families to not do anything for their seniors and just accept no prom when 90% of the country is having prom. Not holding teachers accountable for not showing up to zoom classes or appointments Not holding kids accountable when they don’t show up for classes, turn in work 2 days before marking period ends. Other districts, counties, and states have done more. We are dead last in the country. It is sad
Kids are going to school daily. Teachers are entitled to take leave and they don't have subs but just not showing up is not ok. Don't like the free lunch, pack your own. Its free. Send water with your child daily. Is that hard? The reduced classes and work is a huge issue for us but parents complained about work load and screen time so this is what we get. You sound really entitled. And, they need to do real cleaning at least 1-2 times a week but they should hire professional crews to come in and clean in the evening and not just shut down schools.
The kids are not in school eveyday Covid is not spread through contact. Especially after 24hrs, so cleaning Wed is a waste of time and money and it is just another paid day off for teachers. Cafeteria staff has been paid since March. They are vaccinated. They can cook food and serve it like every restaurant is doing Refillable water stations should be open. MCPS is light years behind the rest of the county
