[/quote] No. I don't think that is true by HS age, even late MS. The kids put in a ton of time--multiple days per week and weekends. At some point, the kid will voice they no longer want it (unless their parents are over-bearing and controlling and they are afraid to say --hey mom/dad I'm not loving this anymore). You can visually tell when a kid no longer has his/her heart in it. I ask my kids what they want to do the following year at the end of every season---move on (stop), stay where they are, look around for a different fit, more competition, less travel, etc. They will strongly voice their opinion at 13 and 15.
