No one is disputing slavery being wrong. But this is Virginia history. There are many wrongs of the past and people related to things we don't like from our past. There are plenty of states that don't have a history of slavery if this is your main trigger. This person was never recognized for being a slave holder. He founded our bill of rights. The real reason people are triggered in Falls Church over minorities is because it's an incorporated city that excluded blacks. The city needs to deal with that which is much more recent than George Mason's work which  mostly happened before we even became an independent nation. They can change the name but it isn't going to change what this man did for America.[/quote]
