But a backwoods Appalachian accent does, in the same way that a South Boston accent or a. Bronx accent does. It’s stereotyping, yes, and it’s often rude and incorrect. But I think it’s less about the north versus south divide than about a class issue and correlation between education levels and people with certain strong regional accents. [/quote]
