We’ll be hybrid due to distancing requirements among the students who won’t be vaccinated. No question. If FCPS can find more teachers and get creative on finding more space then maybe we could go 4 days. but let’s be realistic — that’s never going to happen. Hybrid 2 days.
I completely agree that it's going to be either hybrid 2 days a week or concurrent. There's just not enough space for the kids to be there 4 days a week. And I do believe that FCPS is going to follow the social distancing guidelines. Even at 3 ft there's not enough room.
We’re talking about next September like it’s February. Things are already way better now. There’s no way we’re doing hybrid next fall. We’ll be so out of step with the rest of the country.
+1 We all need to take a deep breath. The percent positivity is dropping by .2 every day. It’s 8.3 today, per the FCPS dashboard: https://www.fcps.edu/return-school/fcps-confirmed-covid-19-case-reporting. It’ll be near 5 in the next 15+ or so days which is a key metric in determining community spread. FCPS prioritized teachers for vaccines. No one is taking the cdc advice as gospel. Nothing is a given, but I don’t think FCPS can keep this up much longer. Teachers and everyone who is handling the logistics madness of hybrid/concurrent wants to be back full time in the fall. Stay home. Wear a mask.
