Being tempted to do something and actually doing it are two different things.  They can keep up [i]thinking [/i]it as long as they want, as long as they don't give into temptation.

And the way your story ends is, "And now the guy who assaulted me in that parking lot is in jail for the next 10 years."  Because assault and attempted murder are more serious offenses than property damage.  Jury will be with your right up to the, "and after he was down and no longer scratching the paint, I stomped on a his head a few times" part.[/quote]
