I teach in a Title One school with 90%+ students on free meals. Only two out of my 33 students will be returning to school. In our kindergarten classes, one child is returning in each of two classes. I think the other kindergarten class might have 5 kids coming back. So we will teach online from the classroom with those students logging in. Our school has mostly Hispanic and black students. If I were a parent in that situation, I wish I could have a chance to reconsider. Not worth it for the kids or teachers. But with DL we have no way of getting in touch with any other families who we don't happen to know from elsewhere- no class directory, ability to email other kids, etc.[/quote]
