I agree in this case it would be best to just not mention it again and move on. I also think if the other mom had said something about being offended, it would have been appropriate to say, "I'm really sorry! I didn't think about how that would come off," and then move on. Sometimes people are sensitive about things unexpectedly. It's human. Just be gracious and kind and it will be fine. The only reason something like this turns into a thing is if you start talking to other people about how "Larla is soooo touchy about her daughter sharing a name with my dog" and then it gets back to her and now she is being provoked and gossiped about on a subject she has already shown you is a sore spot! So just don't do that, and this will all be forgotten soon.[/quote]
