I'm from New Orleans and have never kissed family members on the lips, though I knew other families who did. I always found it strange, but my 2 yr old DD kisses me on the lips now, and while at first it was awkward for me, I couldn't bring myself to say to her, "don't kiss mommy on the lips." After a while I got quite comfortable with it . I've never seen her kiss anyone else that way, though, she kisses everyone else on the cheek. Go figure.[/quote]
