I agree it was inconsiderate of her not to mention having an ill family member. That seems to be a pretty standard social norm these days (to notify people of exposure to someone sick). But if she’s worried she won’t get paid, I can see why she wouldn’t call out. I’m honestly surprised she even told you after the fact.

If you otherwise like her, then set clear expectations, and be prepared to be a stable source of income for her if you want her to be honest. [/quote]
