OMG - after seeing both of them, I am totally Team DH. That private deck is amazing. And, yes, kitchen is much better. I like your pick a lot better for the same price. -woman with kids who would put up with stairs
I bet you have older kids and forgot the baby/toddler years. I have 3 kids. My youngest is now 3. I remember when we were looking at homes when we had just 2 kids, any home with stairs to the main level was a no. When is the last time you had a double stroller at the bottom of 16 stairs? Or had a sleeping 40 pound toddler in a stroller to carry up 16 stairs? I’m sure OP thinks carrying an infant baby seat up and down stairs is no big deal.
So true! He said newborn so that baby probably weighs no more than 10 pounds right now. My 3 year old is tall and weighs 43 pounds. I would hate to have to carry him up 16 steps. With every single step I would be cursing my life choices. — woman who loved living in a 2 story walk up when I was single!!!
Why TF would you be carrying a 3 year old up 16 stairs? That’s nothing. Make him walk. Fat, lazy kids, this generation is raising.
NP but you’re rude. Sometimes 3 year olds are little assholes who refuse to do stuff for irrational reasons and cannot be bribed to do anything. Sometimes you don’t feel like waiting it out and need to move.
And even if they’re perfectly agreeable 3 year olds, it’s common for kids this age to fall asleep in the stroller. Most people would prefer to let their kid keep napping for the extra 30 - 45 minutes after you get home. If you wake up the kid and make him walk up the stairs, he’s going to be wide awake while you’re trying to put away groceries and get a minute to yourself. Yes, these problems are not insurmountable, but why would you do this to yourself if you don’t have to??? It’s like buying a house with not enough bedrooms because you can turn the corner of the living room into an office. It’s fine if you have to do this, but it’s a stupid choice if you had the option of buying a house with an office.
Um, because OP’s choice is way nicer?
