Of course there will be challenges for age gap couples. But the same could and was said for same-sex or interracial  unions years ago (what about the kids, etc.). OP is not some naive teenager. She knows people age and her friend's dad won't always be a fit 52 year old. If she's willing to deal with the challenges, why should anyone care?
