Privates are not unionized and don't have the same issue.[/quote] Privates also have smaller class sizes, giving them more ability to have more manageable numbers in the classrooms, and charge significant amounts of tuition, which puts more pressure on them to deliver something different from what the public schools are doing. (Yes, I know, we all pay taxes for the public schools, too, but that's not the same thing, since we pay taxes whether we have kids in public schools or not.)
