I used to take my dog to doggy daycare, and he loved it so much I had to drag him away every evening. Then we moved to DC, where doggy daycare is prohibitively expensive, so my dog had to adjust to a life of being home alone all day. Now when I try to take my dog to a dog park, he freaks out. On walks, he snaps and growls and barks at other dogs. He's completely forgotten how to socialize with other members of his species. The children who go for too long without proper socialization today become tomorrow's violent firecrackers.
Well, children are a little more cognitively advanced than dogs  so I hope they won't completely forget how to talk to each other. However, I do see some of the DC's friendships crumble because of the inability to maintain them in person. Social isolation is a thing, especially, for only children.
