Coronavirus isn't believed to be able to survive in a pool, thanks to the fact it's filled with a bunch of chlorinated water which would kill the virus. It seems like everyone who's clutching their pearls about people being 10 feet apart in the water need to chill? The problem comes on the parts of the pool which are shared, like the handrails. So take your hand sanitizer, stay away from other families/kids when you're OUT of the pool and maybe calm down a little?
It's not about "clutching pearls" or "needing to chill". In many cases, it's about obeying the rules set forth by the Board at your pool. At ours, the rules very clearly state that even family members must maintain 10' distance during lap swim because the club "is not providing Learn to Swim instruction in Phase 2". That's a direct quote. I'm plenty calm about it, but the fact remains that when I paid our dues this year, I agreed to follow whatever rules the Board voted on. Right now that means that if two members of my household reserve a lane together, we stay 10' apart while we're using it.
