Oh yes, it is minor. I’ve been with my DH for over 15 years, we have three kids, and we’ve been through our fair share of ups and downs in life. Eating habits are minor - as long as each respects the others’ preferences.

Everyone who replied to this thread should have added whether or not they are happily married and for how long, because I question how someone could endure life’s ups and downs with a partner if they’re so willing to eliminate someone based on veganism.[/quote]

It might be minor for you, but the responses here show it’s not minor for everyone. Dating a picky eater sucks for people who enjoy or care about food. Sounds like your family doesn’t really care about food if you consider it a minor part of your life, so it works for you. As someone who loves to cook and eat all kinds of foods and finds enjoyment from sharing the experience, I wouldn’t be compatible with any kind of picky eater (which includes Vegans).  I also couldn’t date or marry a smoker, but for some, they don’t care. I’ve been very happily married for almost exactly 10 years. [/quote]
