The list doesn’t ask that I do that.  It requests that I comply with what black organizers are arranging.  It seems like a reasonable request.  I’m unsure why it’s got you so riled up, though.[/quote]

Agree. What’s being asked is that space is left for black voices, not Hadley from Clarendon whose finally noticing what’s happening around her and feeling the spirit. Also why is it a big deal to pass someone a bottle of water and a Lara bar? Settle down. Really. so little is being asked of you. all your being asked is to show up, notice what’s going on around you, pitch in the way that would be most helpful for this specific event. To follow directions means to not get wild and start having arguments with officers because you’ve never had to fear that, your actions can put someone else in danger. It’s being spelled out because it needs to be spelled out. it’s intense to read a list like that. And it’s not nuanced because there’s not time for that. So if you’re not comfortable with this list it is better you stay home. because people out there protesting need to be safe. [/quote]
