I know, I am saying that Bethesda is not oozing racism. I am Asian and live in a SFH on the edge of downtown Bethesda, and my neighbors hail from France, Finland, Turkey, Ecuador, Japan, Russia, etc...
It’s a very multicultural place, so there isn’t the type of white American privilege and racism you’re thinking of.

+1.  I'm in Bethesda all the time, or at least I was pre-pandemic to go to the gym--anecdotes about Finnish and Turkish people aside, at the end of the day, Bethesda is mostly white.  And just because a community is very international doesn't mean there isn't racism.  I'm 1st-gen American, and some of my relatives have definitely said racist stuff about black Americans.[/quote]

There are some parts of Bethesda that are very multi-cultural and accepting.  Unfortunately there are also parts of Bethesda and Potomac which are filled with with white supremacists like the jerk in the video, those that flee from parts of DC and MD that have encroaching minorities and want their white haven.  They treat minorities poorly, they don't want their children around "those people" and consider anyone that isn't white to be a foreigner who should "go back where they came from".  As a non-white person, I've seen enough incidents to realize that Montgomery County is full of racists like this.[/quote]
