Hopefully, you emailed the club the names of those 5 Red team girls that could not string together passes against 2 white teams players and they were not elected for GA. Being so familiar as you are with the team and all . . .
Oh no, they got offers. They did really well at the sprints at id session.
Please tell me you are kidding. I believe this for U9 Arlington but would-be DAs? C'mon.
No not kidding. See above.[/quote Since you are so familiar with this team and age group who would you consider better? You seem critical of their inability to pass to one another. McLean 2008 ended up in the 8th bracket at the Jeff Cup that we have yet to attend. They are a few brackets below Vienna! I know Arlington played Vienna in a tournament recently and came close. Are they the upcoming team for the area? Loudoun?
DP here. I would say VDA 08 will is the team to beat in this age group. VSA, which is one of the feeder clubs to VDA, outplayed Arlington Red and looked like a more talented team. Loudoun, Arlington and McLean, which are all good teams, are probably in the next tier. I would not read too much into the tournament brackets. McLean, for example, was placed in a lower bracket than Vienna, but McLean beat Vienna 4-0 in head to head in another tournament. Anyhow, the PP talked about the style of play rather than relative strength of the team or tournament brackets. You can have an athletic team that plays direct style and dominates at younger ages, but then starts losing at older ages when it is harder to simply out sprint and out muscle the opponent. I won't attempt to predict how each of these teams will age, but VSA/VDA appears to be the strongest team at the moment.
