She visits my DC and consistently comments how much things have changed. NYU has bought up nearly the entire neighborhood around Washington Square ( or the village). The NYUflags dominate the village and go deep into Soho. It’s very impressive and there is constant construction. NYU is the largest and wealthiest land owner in NYC (that was NOT the case in the 80s) and the real estate is in the most expensive parts of the city. They also have an army of security everywhere so the area is safe. [/quote]
