I get that it was spring break last week (and today) and teachers weren't working. But if we have to just do packets next week and we don't get any actual virtual instruction from them, even if just 15 minutes for ELA, math to set up the packet assignments, I am going to lose my s***.
Well donate a laptop and some money for those families who do not have those things. If the entire class cannot participate, no one should. We have the necessary essentials, but it would not be fair.
WTF. Everyone has a smartphone.... People like you are the problem with DCPS....
Wondering if schools whose communities have adequate computers ets are lending the school's computers to schools where the families don't have adequate computers. This would be a way to ensure that all students have access.
My school is lending out all our chromebooks. I'm sure some won't come back but, in this case, I think it is worth it. I've now connected with about 50% of my families, up from about 25% a week ago. I teach little ones, so what I can offer is limited, but I'm doing a video daily, links to other learning videos, and asking kids to do work on both our reading and math sites, and trying to have virtual face to face contact with each kid once a week. I miss my students a lot!
