Like here, VAT is either reduced or not charged on certain items, like helmets, medical services, car seats.

I don't like the idea of increased taxes, but I think most of that is because we are not used to it.  If we lived in the UK, we'd be used to it, so it wouldn't bug as that much, [b]AND we would never ever worry about out of control health care costs or college costs, like we do here.[/b][/quote]

Right? Taxes aren't: the state takes your money and throws it down a hole.

The point of taxes is to pay for government to do stuff We The People want the government to do. Like universal health care coverage, and college costs.[/quote]
