Can’t believe this hasn’t been mentioned — start running and work up to 15 miles a week. Ideally outside. People who run that much or more do not have bellies, period. No need to eat restrictively by eliminating entire food groups or by squeezing all your meals into a few hours a day
Stand at the finish line of a marathon sometime.
Agree, there are a lot of apple shaped runners.
I keep hearing this silly advice on DCUM that 15 miles per week is a magic number. That is pretty low mileage- 3× 5 mile runs per week or 5x 3 mile runs per week. Jogging for a half an hour per day at a slow pace is not, by any stretch, the sort of vigorous training that would eliminate the need to diet. Running is a good activity that I love and engage in often, but it is far from the panacea DCUM thinks it is, and weight lifting is better for body shaping and fat burn. Also, as a pp mentioned about the finish line of a marathon... it's true. Lots of marathoners are in good shape but many aren't. Marathons generally have more to do with your ability to tolerate and endure pain than your fitness level.
