^ You mean well and I thought you were going somewhere but -for the love of god- you do not get it. Competitive teams at the younger ages with the LARGEST player pool by far of any other Club in the DMV. It's all physicality based. It's NOT development which is the point of youth DA. They still will take kids developed elsewhere in the older age groups. This is by no means an argument for keeping them.
That could be. Maybe. But DCU isn't doing anything of value either. They live off of being an MLS affiliated DA. My main point is the two are at least level. They are just living off of a player pool they don't Coach well. Bethesda and BA are another story. I agree on those two. So if Arlington isn't the answer. DCU is also a tragedy. Nova needs another option.
So much Arlington hate. We get, your kid didn’t make it. Clearly the club must suck. Get over it and move on.
Please. And this is another reason the club remains weaker than it should be. Club meets the demands of parents, many of whom don’t know a damned thing about soccer or development. Sure. Don’t change a thing.
I don’t get the Arlington hate. I mean, don’t we all wish that our club will develop all our players into superstars? I don’t know much about soccer but I do know that a player gets better when they practice and play with better players. If your player is on the 3rd team and they play against mediocre competition, how do they get better? Is the club failing them when they aren’t getting faster, or more skilled? I have a dd so my knowledge is on the girls’ side, but she was actually developed by Arlington- as were about 5 of her teammates. She moved from rec, to ADP, to 3rd team of travel, to 2nd team, to 1st team, and finally to DA. Someone saw her potential, I guess. Last year, her DA team was close to the bottom of their division. This year, they are 2nd - behind FCV. They seem to be getting better. I’m assuming it’s because they are being developed. I’ve been impressed with the girls side this year. It’s a huge improvement over last year. They girls have had seminars in nutrition, sports psychology, and college recruiting. I think Arlington is ready for a full boy’s DA, and I hope they get it.
