But most everyone I knew had a part time job in highschool, and we used our own money for clothes and movies, etc. Everyone worked during college. Even after college, if my friends didn't jump into a career, they paid their rent by waiting tables or whatever. Where did the "slacker" label come from? [/quote] +1. I was born in 1978 and had the exact same experience. Also, we were too old to be able to stay on our parents' health care until age 26 and too young to walk into a career that offered excellent health care and an employer-funded pension.
