The only people who call me “Lah-ra” are from NJ, and I don’t care, since it’s a regional difference in pronunciation. Almost everyone says “Lore-ah.”[/quote] NP here. I completely agree. I’ve never heard anyone pronounce Laura differently than Lore-Ah. Then again, I’ve never been to Jersey, so there’s that. (In California, Chicago, NY, and even here in DC Laura is pronounced very differently than Lara.) [/quote]
