When I was a teenager, my mom told me that if I ever had a baby, don't go to a Catholic hospital because if something went wrong and the doctor had to choose just one of us to save, he’d save the baby. Was there any truth to that? I assume it’s not true today.
I believe this is true as child would be without sin. Roman Catholism has done more harm than good since St. Peter stood on the rock!
Catholic Church began in 1024 after the church was split between East and West
Not entirely true. Not much true.. Not true at all. Catholic Church begins with the teachings of Jesus Christ, who lived in the 1st century CE. The East–West Schism, also called the Great Schism and the Schism of 1054, was the break of communion between what are now the Roman Catholic Church and Orthodox Catholic Churches
Jesus did not mention the pope, call on women to become nuns, call men to become monks Jesus did not prrach church doctrine
Follow him? Or take a wow of obedience to mother superior in a convent
The concept of obedience (and poverty, and chastity) as an evangelical counsel in a life of religion is far more complex than the caricature presented in old movies and is, quite frankly, not something an outsider is likely to comprehend or profitably comment upon. Religious life is a unique spiritual and communitarian experience that varies among foundations. It has produced extraordinary men and women and the vows are part of what accomplished that, just as bows in a true marriage bring people far beyond themselves.
