I am perplexed by this attitude. It is excusable if you didn't know before it was revealed to you that it is normal to have two sets of books due to different accounting standards in the US for tax and business accounting. But then to call these simple facts as lies? This must be how it feels to confront flat earthers. [/quote]

Which, as discussed in this thread, may be due to different treatment as allowed by tax law or GAAP rules. Without seeing the justification and verifying the underlying structure and transactions, it is impossible to draw the conclusion that this is fraudulent.
