The fact is is that if the other team is wearing a dark color your team has to change to a light color - which is more often than not white.

Not in leagues that aren’t Rec. I’ve never seen a navy blue team play a team with white jerseys and navy blue shorts.

have multiple kids at all age groups that play for the top clubs and they can wear darker shorts with their lighter jersey.
